Gifts do not need to cost a lot.
They don’t need to be mass produced from some foreign land.
Most often the very best gifts are those made with love and full of sweet memories!
This has more meaning than any fancy piece of artwork I could purchase.
It was made for people I love…
Featuring people I love!
Besides…it was much more fun to make than braving the crowds in town shopping for the perfect gift!
So how about you?
Are you holidays going to handmade?

If you would like to know how I made the framed are go here for a tutorial
I think homemade gifts are much more better than the one bought in stores. Because the thought and loving touch in homemade gifts are very precious.
Lovely idea! I will be giving some of my own photos, framed. I do patchwork, too but none ready for this Christmas.
I have to agree, it’s much better than the commercial Christmas they want us to subscribe to.
What a sweet gift!
Beautiful idea!! I have a couple of people who are impossible to shop for, and something like this would be perfect. Thanks for sharing!!
Soooo cute!! I know one Great-Grandmother that would love to see my two grandsons in a setting like that on her nursing home room’s wall! Thanks for posting. Your kids are adorable!
Blessings!

Beautiful – LOVE this idea. I agree, this is one reason I make calendars featuring my photos for friends and family. The past couple years I have taken photos of my sister kids and framed them for her, she really enjoys them.
I have had a policy of only giving handmade gifts, if at all possible, for holidays. My family seems to enjoy this most and in fact, often hint at certain things they would like that I make. I don’t mind because I know they will treasure those things much more than cheap (or not so cheap) stuff made overseas and it brings us closer to the true meaning of Christmas.
This is just sweet.
Our Christmas will be mostly hand made. I’m doing cards, a sweater, maybe a hat, some ornaments, and other things, too. 🙂
What beautiful photos! Thanks for inspiring me. I try to make as many of the gifts throughout the year as I can. We don’t exchange a lot of gifts and I am happy about that. I make pillowcases for my nieces for birthdays and Christmas. They are made from different themed fabrics so all year long they can use them (Easter, Harvest, flower, Christmas, Valentine’s). I buy the fabric after the holiday when it is on a super sale. They also get fabric napkins along the same lines. It seems to work.
I love your framed photo idea….makes me think to plan ahead for something next year. THANK YOU! Sincerely, Emily
So beautiful! The photos look great and what a wonderful idea.
