About 7 years ago, we lost my mother in law unexpectedly right after Christmas. The following spring, the husband planted a few different kinds of rose bushes in our front landscaping to remember her by. To this day, any time he sees a rose, he is reminded of the incredibly beautiful roses she cultivated throughout the years.
While I do enjoy gardening to some extent, I’m definitely not gifted in the area of roses! Unfortunately, our roses look NOTHING like hers did.
Out of the 3 he planted, only 1 even blooms. We were planning on removing the other 2 as we get the outside cleaned up and prepared for the fall/winter months, but we came home to this the other day after work…
There have not been any blooms on this plant for at least 3 years! Sometimes it’s the little things in life! (And I would LOVE any pointers on roses if you have any!)

What a beautiful bloom. I can’t share anything that would be appropriate for your growing area. I don’t have any roses growing, so can’t offer any advice. The timing of how we do things in South Texas (we prune in Feb) would be completely different than the timing for your roses in Central Indiana.
I look forward to reading the comments and hope you can get your roses to bloom and thrive.
you’ve caught a great picture–love that wer can see all the droplets of water!
Thanks girls! I took that photo with my phone, so I was super excited when it showed the raindrops! Hopefully I’ll have more time to spend on the roses:)
Do you prune them? You might be able to revive them through some rejuvenating pruning. Google “rose pruning [YOUR STATE] extension” and you’ll get location-specific advice.
This guy knows everything about roses, too (Twitter buddy)
