I have 15 sweet pepper plants and two hot pepper plants in the garden. They have been equally coddled, pampered, and protected. Yet one is so far beyond the others I find it quite odd…

All the other peppers in the patch are the size of large marbles…this guy is almost full size and starting to color up…
It grew so quickly that I had to prop up the poor little immature plant with a brick because the pepper kept toppling it over! I know that the heat from the brick is probably know helping it right along with its amazing growth but the brick cannot explain why it started growing before all the other plants had even set flowers!

This monster pepper is on a plant called the ‘healthy pepper’ which I started from seed…yes I would indeed say that is definitely ‘healthy’…and a little freaky too!

I have one pepper plant that did the same thing. It started blooming when it was only 3 inches tall and it set tiny fruits not long afterwards (while it was still in the seed starting area). I finally put it in a pot on the front porch and it already has 5-6 peppers on it (a few that are getting ready to harvest). I guess the seed was just a good one.
Do you remember what the variety was- and where you purchased it? I’d love to know.
Lol, I’ve got a couple overachiever tomatoes here, too. Never thought of them that way but it makes me laugh.
Very impressive!
Save the seeds from it – you may have a bumper crop of peppers next year!
LOL how funny! I can’t seem to get my peppers to get any bigger, they are all only a few inches tall … oh maybe it needs to stop raining in order for things to actually GROW!
*grumble*

Save the seeds from that one! Wow…
Here in New England, I’m not sure we’ll ever get peppers at all.
This reminded me of a gardener in my neighborhood growing up. Her vegetables were perfect, in spite of the families poverty.
Her story is pretty remarkable. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Diane-Garnick-Fan-Site/30099979536
